We were at the Horse Expo at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.  Three days of girl watching!
“Incredible” is probably the best word to describe the three days.  There was so much going on and so MANY people going to the demos and lectures and exhibitions and judging and rodeos.  They had over 800 vendors in numerous buildings, plus a schedule of different speakers in four locations every half hour, plus free horse and pony and carriage rides, plus endless other things.  The official program for the weekend was 120 pages!
The square dancing on Friday was in the sheep barn near the free horse and pony rides.  For Saturday and Sunday, square dancing moved to the outdoor stage in front of the FFA building attached to the Miracle of Birth Center, which was right on the main street of the Expo.  Once the music started, spectators were drawn in and many participated in a short, introductory patter call.  Smiles were everywhere!  Lots of flyers and tickets left the information table so now we wait to see what the future holds.
For those of you who love numbers, a total of seventy dancers from nine clubs danced in the three days.  The weather was perfect so it was a SUPER weekend to be outside dancing at a mini state fair. “Fun, friendship, fitness and FOOD” were everywhere!
Like all other events, this would not have been possible without the seventy enthusiastic promoters.  Kudos to all of you!
